One of the simplest ways to know your sources/causes of procrastination is to simply ask questions to yourself.
Fact is, you already know much about a lot of stuff, but you rarely if ever sit down and make sense of what you already know. It would be helpful to take what you know, connect the pieces, and make sense of what you get.
Q2 is just that; it stands for Quality Questions. The underlying truth is that if you ask questions of better quality to yourself, you get quality answers.
So what is a Quality Question? It is a question which when answered guides you in the right direction. For example: if you ask yourself "why do I procrastinate so much"? you may get answers but what will you do with them? What if you get answers in the form of more procrastination so that you can become aware of causes through actual experience?
But if you ask yourself: "how can I be more productive at this"? and "how can I maximize the use of my time today"? You would get answers tailor made for your goal. Notice that the goal is in the actual question (be more productive / maximise use of time).
Try this tonight a few hours before you retire.
Ask yourself: How would tomorrow's day be if I were totally efficient and effective?
Get in a happy feeling of pride. You want to be proud of having performed to your best for a day. Keep asking the question. Make it your intention to get answers.
Then let your mind guide you... it will start to ask more questions and provide answers.
Your mind will be asking stuff like: What would you do tomorrow which you usually wouldn't?
What wouldn't you do that you usually do?
At what time would you get out of bed?
What must I do tonight so that tomorrow I can be effective?
At what point would you take a break?
How would you divide your time among 2 or more important tasks?
What reward would you give yourself?
What would make all this efficiency worth it!? What rewards are you gaining from it? How can you keep them in mind to motivate yourself in the best way?
Do it, and let your mind surprise you!
